Hello everyone, this blog will be dedicated to delve a little deeper into the album Voidcore!

This is the Bandcamp Alt (which I personally liked the most), but you can see the whole art post here

This album was originally published on April 17, 2021, and worked since April 6 (well, a very quick one). It came out after MEMORY CORE, and it could be confused, in fact, the folder with all the files was named "MEMORY CORE 2" for some reason I don't remember, but they have nothing to do with each other ',:¬l

Talking about the pixelart. The size is the same as with MEMORY CORE, and I decided to make an alt that was only found on Bandcamp, because I didn't like the other one, but the video was already made and uploaded to YT, so I made a fanart on TV -guy who left televisions in houses at dawn, I didn't have enough references for something liminal that really impacted, so I did the honor to TV-guy.

The 16Bital color palette was used, in the first art, it was trying to do something "eerie", the feeling of being lost nowhere, and with something that was watching you, something that you could not escape from and that no matter how much you ran , you would always see that on the horizon, a mixture of pareidolia, megalophobia, and other strange sensations.

Now, 'bout the music. This time I was very inspired by all that stuff about the liminal, dreamcore, nursecore, traumacore, nightmares and backrooms. I had already made music with a horror-industrial theme (similar to Silent Hill) before, but I wanted to experiment a little more. So, this little album came out. With a total of 16 songs, 13 official and 3 Bandcamp exclusives, these are here:

  1. Today I woke up (01:25). This song is inspired by instrumental lounge music, especially as heard from The Caretaker. As the opening of the album, the song is about someone waking up from a long sleep, something is heard on a broken radio, and for the moment everything feels "safe" until the audio goes haywire.
  2. Iced in a Bathtub (01:35). As a continuation of the first song, it places us with someone, who in fact did wake up, but inside a bathtub with ice, the cooling effects made him feel absolutely nothing, until a little after waking up. The lounge music that was supposed to be on the radio is now just faint echoes in the abandoned building, he's all alone, and he's accompanied by numbness and confusion.
  3. I was never here (02:25). This chiptune uses trip-hop and noisedrums. When the guy is awake, he realizes that what he thought was somewhere he was before, is actually totally unknown.
  4. Personal Hell (03:19). This one has jungle and drum & bass genre. It was made thinking of a tangle of emotions inside a person who does not know what he has done with his life, it is more of an internal battle.
  5. Nobody is here but I'm not alone (04:20). The theme focuses on the feeling of being stalked by something that, although it is unknown, is just as dangerous, there is no one, but "it" chases you, although you have no idea where it does it from. You continue to try to get to a safe place, but your own suggestion does not improve the matter.
  6. The the Safest Playroom in the World (04:42). You may know this song, but in its healthy version. It is a kind of continuation of the previous song. It's about having found the perfect place to rest and hang out alone, even if it's just a placebo, and little by little you lose yourself until it feels like it's all a dream.
  7. Sleeping in Isolation (02:28). Song from a secret OST. In spirit, it could be a continuation of the previous one as well. The context of the music is about an abandoned city, where in the huge and cold concrete walls, which have been worn down over time after a horrible event, only the sounds and echoes of what once had life are kept.
  8. Bucle Exit Doors (03:39). I think the name is more than clear. Do you want to get out of here? well, go to the exit door, more corridors?, look for the exit door, cross and at the bottom left you will find the bathroom, and next to the exit door, from there you go straight to the exit door, touch the office bell, there is no one, but you can enter, there you will see another exit door. Looks like someone left the radio on, whose song is that?
  9. Night Paralysis but I was Never Asleep (02:58). Trip-hop style and noise. This song is about your adventure being paralyzed, possibly someone is watching you from the dark corner of your room, you think it's just another nightmare, until you finally fall asleep.
  10. Inner Ghosts from my Guts (02:57). This song uses a bit of jungle and speedcore (to some degree) along with noise. No further explanation is needed.
  11. G0D CAME TO US (03:04). This time I tried to do something similar to the "dark trap", I understand if it's not to your liking, it was totally experimental. For this, I used guttural sounds to resemble a kind of invocation ritual, where "God" is called, but it is not as it was described or perhaps it was always like that.
  12. The Void (03:37). This song is an alt of "Sleeping in isolation", also from a secret OST. A more industrial style is used, heard on the drums and chorus.
  13. Dreaming to Escape (04:43). This song uses a Jungle and Drum & Bass style, inspired by Sewerslvt. Although the song has in a certain sense a "happy" or "tender" touch, it also carries melancholy. "Dreaming to escape" from all the negative that happens every day, failures, disappointments, false hopes, and everything that one has no control over, but even when this arrives, not much can be done about it, maybe sleep forever , regardless of the nightmares and strange situations found in the dream world.

-EXTRAS (Only Bandcamp)-

  1. This is supposed to be my house (01:49). A slightly upbeat song, focused more on "dreamcore".
  2. Body usurper and nobody knows (02:59). This song is about a skinwalker who regrets having taken the identity of a person, not because of the person himself, but because he is losing himself by usurping and faking the life of another, he can't talk to anyone about it because Nobody would believe it, but after caring for the friends and family of the subject whom he usurps, he feels that perhaps it is better not to tell the truth, just to disappear one day.
  3. Limbo before Death (04:52). The theme of this song is a journey to nothing. There is no heaven or hell, just a vast wasteland full of dangerous entities that look out for their own interests, watching over and preying on the souls of those who are unaware of the world they are in, or worse, who wander while hallucinating their previous lives.
