Hello! I'm gonna talk a little more about this last album, not to lose the habit 👀

iu_967087_14817469.png

First, the origin...

Mine, Craft, and build in a vast shared online world!
Gather resources, craft, and build your own creations online with friends.
Play instantly with other players around the world. Play with your friends, or make new friends online.
Try the game! It's free and creating an account is as simple as entering your player name. No email required.

Cubic Jail comes from an online third-person sandbox game with crossplay features, called Cubic Castles, belonging to the development team Cosmic Cow Games.

The game is for all ages, although there may be some interesting things in the background, such as the presence of religious/infernal entities and some nods to the Illuminati.

The game world is distributed in some Overworlds, which has several sub worlds called "Realm", which can be both for the players, as maps of the game itself, or biome worlds to collect resources.

One of these Realms is Cubic Jail, which literally functions as the prison where players who commit violations of the rules are kept inside and are not allowed to leave or teleport to any other player until a period of time has elapsed (of course, after several violations, the player is banned from the game). Either way, this Realm like many others were also built for entertainment and each one has its story (some connected).

Cubic Jail, then, contains a mystery adventure where we play the role of a prisoner with amnesia, whose only memories he has is that there was an accident on a boat and he lost his wife Katherine, without knowing if she died or is still alive. We go around the prison while we have some clues that are strangely there, and from time to time we take information from the other inmates to know the way to escape.

Currently the map has 2 endings (or so I think, the last time I played was in 2018).

There's the escape route through the surveillance airways, and the real route where we went down into the catacombs.

The pixelart?

There is not much to say, it is an image of the protagonist referring to that scene in Silent Hill 2 when James Sunderland looks in the mirror. Both stories include the search for the protagonist's wife with memory loss, so I figured she would be fine.

Also, being a total rework of the first album, it would be better to do a more "professional" artwork.

The image is not that good yet, I just recently noticed that the lighting is a little weird, I based it on the same lighting from the Silent Hill 2 scene...

So, the music?

May 24, 2017

This is when I decided to make the tribute album of the game, I must admit that it was well received at least among the players and there was a pin about it from one of the ex moderators Horus. After that, players started asking for music for the game, which is true, it felt pretty off, I think it currently has item music.

To make the album I went only the true route and totally ignored the first one that was there from the beginning, the expansion of the adventure map was a novelty.

So, we are here...

I did the rework because after a long time in this, I had already grasped some technique, and something like this was worth it to give it a dusting and retouching, so I completed it with 20 songs, I redid the ones that were already there from scratch and added new ones.

Well, I tried, but it didn't have the same impact, firstly because many of the users at that time were no longer active, and secondly, because advertising doesn't work for me (or I don't know how to make it work), so I just I just went back to the forum and posted it as an update, and normally posted it wherever I went, but it went unnoticed. In the same way, there it is, I took a load off my shoulders when I finished it, I did it when I was already retired from chiptune and I don't know if I really want to do anything else.

Well, there was a downsizing and such, finally after a month and a half I was finally hired somewhere else, but it's half day to midnight work, no holidays-off (although at least one day off at mandatory work week).

The thing is, I had planned to start fully doing NSFW pixelart and nudes, and soon "hentai" content too. On the good and bad side, I won't have that time to do the things I really like, anyway I'll see how to do it, even though it will be v e r y s l o w and probably

v e r y e x h a u s t i n g.

I was planning to even do a Fanbox or something to upload alt versions of the images and get a little money, but if it takes me a long time and I can barely make very little monthly content, I don't think anyone wants to pay for that.

This also includes doing other things, not just adult pixelart, even unrelated hobbies. Because we do not live in the best economic conditions, I will be like this for an indefinite time.

That's all, in case anyone was interested and later wondered about my lack of activity.

Hello! I'm going to explain a little about this album called OBITUAR (O B I T U Δ Я)

iu_909050_14817469.png

Initially, this album began to be worked on since December 2019, concluded on June 17, 2020.

This is another album that contains an alternate image for Bandcamp. I don't need to talk much about pixelart, the palette used is BLK AQU4, geometric and "mystical" shapes are normal in Witch House art, for the alternate version, I was inspired by the "infernal" visual art of The Binding of Isaac .

Now the music. The album mostly contains the Witch House type (also known as Haunted House), mixed with some Drum & Bass, drums heard in the Dark Synth and Trap, some noise, choirs, pianos and harps, echo and reverb effects, and because of the theme, many "spooky" sounds.

I mention that there are references to past songs I've done, although I don't think it's important. Also, you'll notice that there's quite a bit of sampling, there was a lot of work behind things that I wasn't used to doing.

The album has 21 songs and 5 Bandcamp exclusives.

  1. GeneXis (02:22)
  2. 0ne Girl Lover (03:14)

Hello everyone, this blog will be dedicated to delve a little deeper into the album Voidcore!

iu_900279_14817469.png

This is the Bandcamp Alt (which I personally liked the most), but you can see the whole art post here

This album was originally published on April 17, 2021, and worked since April 6 (well, a very quick one). It came out after MEMORY CORE, and it could be confused, in fact, the folder with all the files was named "MEMORY CORE 2" for some reason I don't remember, but they have nothing to do with each other ',:¬l

Talking about the pixelart. The size is the same as with MEMORY CORE, and I decided to make an alt that was only found on Bandcamp, because I didn't like the other one, but the video was already made and uploaded to YT, so I made a fanart on TV -guy who left televisions in houses at dawn, I didn't have enough references for something liminal that really impacted, so I did the honor to TV-guy.

The 16Bital color palette was used, in the first art, it was trying to do something "eerie", the feeling of being lost nowhere, and with something that was watching you, something that you could not escape from and that no matter how much you ran , you would always see that on the horizon, a mixture of pareidolia, megalophobia, and other strange sensations.

Now, 'bout the music. This time I was very inspired by all that stuff about the liminal, dreamcore, nursecore, traumacore, nightmares and backrooms. I had already made music with a horror-industrial theme (similar to Silent Hill) before, but I wanted to experiment a little more. So, this little album came out. With a total of 16 songs, 13 official and 3 Bandcamp exclusives, these are here:

  1. Today I woke up (01:25). This song is inspired by instrumental lounge music, especially as heard from The Caretaker. As the opening of the album, the song is about someone waking up from a long sleep, something is heard on a broken radio, and for the moment everything feels "safe" until the audio goes haywire.
  2. Iced in a Bathtub (01:35). As a continuation of the first song, it places us with someone, who in fact did wake up, but inside a bathtub with ice, the cooling effects made him feel absolutely nothing, until a little after waking up. The lounge music that was supposed to be on the radio is now just faint echoes in the abandoned building, he's all alone, and he's accompanied by numbness and confusion.
  3. I was never here (02:25). This chiptune uses trip-hop and noisedrums. When the guy is awake, he realizes that what he thought was somewhere he was before, is actually totally unknown.
  4. Personal Hell (03:19). This one has jungle and drum & bass genre. It was made thinking of a tangle of emotions inside a person who does not know what he has done with his life, it is more of an internal battle.
  5. Nobody is here but I'm not alone (04:20). The theme focuses on the feeling of being stalked by something that, although it is unknown, is just as dangerous, there is no one, but "it" chases you, although you have no idea where it does it from. You continue to try to get to a safe place, but your own suggestion does not improve the matter.
  6. The the Safest Playroom in the World (04:42). You may know this song, but in its healthy version. It is a kind of continuation of the previous song. It's about having found the perfect place to rest and hang out alone, even if it's just a placebo, and little by little you lose yourself until it feels like it's all a dream.
  7. Sleeping in Isolation (02:28). Song from a secret OST. In spirit, it could be a continuation of the previous one as well. The context of the music is about an abandoned city, where in the huge and cold concrete walls, which have been worn down over time after a horrible event, only the sounds and echoes of what once had life are kept.
  8. Bucle Exit Doors (03:39). I think the name is more than clear. Do you want to get out of here? well, go to the exit door, more corridors?, look for the exit door, cross and at the bottom left you will find the bathroom, and next to the exit door, from there you go straight to the exit door, touch the office bell, there is no one, but you can enter, there you will see another exit door. Looks like someone left the radio on, whose song is that?
  9. Night Paralysis but I was Never Asleep (02:58). Trip-hop style and noise. This song is about your adventure being paralyzed, possibly someone is watching you from the dark corner of your room, you think it's just another nightmare, until you finally fall asleep.
  10. Inner Ghosts from my Guts (02:57). This song uses a bit of jungle and speedcore (to some degree) along with noise. No further explanation is needed.
  11. G0D CAME TO US (03:04). This time I tried to do something similar to the "dark trap", I understand if it's not to your liking, it was totally experimental. For this, I used guttural sounds to resemble a kind of invocation ritual, where "God" is called, but it is not as it was described or perhaps it was always like that.
  12. The Void (03:37). This song is an alt of "Sleeping in isolation", also from a secret OST. A more industrial style is used, heard on the drums and chorus.
  13. Dreaming to Escape (04:43). This song uses a Jungle and Drum & Bass style, inspired by Sewerslvt. Although the song has in a certain sense a "happy" or "tender" touch, it also carries melancholy. "Dreaming to escape" from all the negative that happens every day, failures, disappointments, false hopes, and everything that one has no control over, but even when this arrives, not much can be done about it, maybe sleep forever , regardless of the nightmares and strange situations found in the dream world.

-EXTRAS (Only Bandcamp)-

  1. This is supposed to be my house (01:49). A slightly upbeat song, focused more on "dreamcore".
  2. Body usurper and nobody knows (02:59). This song is about a skinwalker who regrets having taken the identity of a person, not because of the person himself, but because he is losing himself by usurping and faking the life of another, he can't talk to anyone about it because Nobody would believe it, but after caring for the friends and family of the subject whom he usurps, he feels that perhaps it is better not to tell the truth, just to disappear one day.
  3. Limbo before Death (04:52). The theme of this song is a journey to nothing. There is no heaven or hell, just a vast wasteland full of dangerous entities that look out for their own interests, watching over and preying on the souls of those who are unaware of the world they are in, or worse, who wander while hallucinating their previous lives.

Hello everyone, this blog will be dedicated to talk more about the chiptune album MEMORY CORE!

If you want to see the entire pixelart post, click here!

iu_891282_14817469.png

In the art post I talked a bit about the origins of how this came about, but next I will talk exclusively about the current content L:

The album was uploaded to Youtube and Bandcamp on January 23, 2021, but worked on since October 2020.

As said in the other post, in the end the name was "recycled" (I'm not good at putting names), and since it's something miscellaneous, I used a more collage art, with the oldie computer in the center and the CRT effect, with a bit of the aesthetic of vaporwave and internetcore.

Working on the music, I decided to experiment more with the instrumental assets that evolved over time, and did my best to make it more in keeping with the classic chiptune sound, but on multiple channels (so to speak).

The album culminated in 20 public songs and 4 exclusive Bandcamp extras.

I must clarify that they were not created in the order that the album currently has, for example, "Voices from Spring" was the last song, in a season close to spring, while "Pumpkin Pie" was made during Thanksgiving

After that album, I guess I got better at developing new chiptunes to some extent, although I did do much more on covers.

The songs are as follows (including the exclusive ones):

  1. Voices from Spring (03:30). A song with a melancholic feeling, where the jingles and arpeggios resound mostly to the rhythm of the drums
  2. BrokenMan (03:03). This one is inspired by the classic beats of Megaman from the NES.
  3. Computers Magic and Samba (03:25). It's inspired by the music of Carlos Santana, but it's not exactly from one genre/subgenre, but it mixes a kind of more futuristic synthesizer, I gave myself more to the idea of "an organic song played by a robot".
  4. Tera (v2) (02:20). This is a remake/rework of an old song, it would be a more Drum & Bass style, with a sequence that could be from a video game.
  5. Pixelf (02:58). This one here is a mix between Drum & Bass and speedcore (although not that fast). The name is due to the fact that a set of instruments similar to flutes, violins and harps are used, perhaps used by elves or by creatures of the forest, so it would be a musical hybrid.
  6. Pumpkin Pie (03:58). This was done as a trip-hop or light rock, with a bit of a "lounge" tone.
  7. Any day is nice with her (v2) (02:59). This is a remake taken from an old album called "Couple Adventure", it's a more pop-like type of rock with happy/tender tones and arpeggios, due to the concept (something like "a young or adolescent couple going out on a day of fun). Maybe you can get to hear a small sequence that is familiar to you, it's an easter egg.
  8. Snail Coffee (04:08). This song could be more pop, it plays a lot with bass and drum with "clap" and noise. I honestly don't know why I put that name, I just remembered the snail that appeared in Adventure Time.
  9. Electro Wave (03:22). This song could have a little Drum & Bass, Techno, Dance, and some Megaman rhythm, the type of synth that works as a second Bass/chord is inspired by the music of Cyborg Corp. and Grendel.
  10. Spooky Fighter (02:31). This song is a finished version from a long time ago, I could say it's a remake, but the previous version was a beta and used the same sequence, rpm and key, only adding what was missing and using the new instruments. As seen in the name, it can give the idea of a cartoonish combat with a ghost, perhaps from an RPG.
  11. From Autumn to Winter (02:35). This song is a kind of light rock with pop, made during the beginning of winter. Its only context is something casual, maybe walking around the neighborhood, maybe on a trip to the grocery store.
  12. Look is Gletscherland! (03:00). A casual song, maybe for an RPG, maybe for a platformer, done with a sort of winter, ice theme.
  13. Last Bus Stop (02:16). This song is somewhat bluesy, for something a little more contextual and casual.
  14. Atomic Power of Whatever (03:04). Another song with Megaman feelings, some speedcore and Drum & Bass, it is characterized not only by fast rhythm, but also by strong chords and a heavy metal solo.
  15. Et Cor Machina PLUS (04:14). This song was taken from a secret OST, so it's for a game in development. This "PLUS" version has extra parts that it did not originally have, so it could be said that it is a "full" version.
  16. Mastermind (03:42). A Dance-Techno, Drum & Bass type song with cyberpunk feels
  17. Alone in the Darkness (03:15). Another secret song, belonging to a game in development. It is also a rework of an old song itself, however, it was a series of merely experimental space-themed songs, not really chiptune as such, and in any case, this version is much better.
  18. Cyberkiller Gladiator (03:58). A song in the Dark Synth style, it is not necessary to comment much if you are already familiar with this type of music. If not, it's eighties synthesizer and rhythms with dark sensations, sometimes adding heavy metal or electric guitars with strong chords, occasionally using "orchestral hits", claps and a drum & bass with a lot of distortion, sometimes with a cyberpunk style (in the original way).
  19. 2XXX (03:34). A more up-to-date cyberpunk style song, using mostly Drum & Bass and strong rhythms accompanied by Orchestral hits. In itself, the theme of the song is about a dystopian future with a highly oppressive government, always maintaining civil order with the riot police service. What inspired me the most to make this song was any scene where there was a fight between civilians and riot police, like in Akira.
  20. Every day is one less (03:43). A bittersweet pop-rock song, during that time it wasn't right even though it tried to show otherwise, just that. Also, it's the last official song on the album, adding a bit more to the metaphor.

-EXTRAS (Only at Badcamp)-

  1. Explosive Gumballs (03:31). One with Drum & Bass and a bit of Dance, I wanted to continue experimenting with Drum made with noise.
  2. Stop Media Control! (02:37). This song is originally made by Mig Navarro, a project partner. For next, with his permission I made the chiptune-arranged version. In any case, this song was also going to be part of a game of his authorship where I would have to make a part of the OST.
  3. Porygonic (v2) (04:39). This song is a remake of my first songs, that whole album was made to feel like a game, maybe platformer. It is one of the few salvageable songs, I did a remake of the album (so current Porygonic should be v3), but it still did not convince me. The type of arpeggio used for the main melody was done in such a way that you really felt like you were "hearing" something made of polygons.
  4. メランコリア (05:18). This song is entirely experimental, I can understand if you don't like it at all. It was made with the purpose of being vaporwave, first pretending to be a Smooth jazz or R&B/Soul type song (obviously, a non-existent song), already with the chiptune done and some indicators in the form of sound, I tried my best to sing only a fragment of what would be the "fake song", to then do all the trimming and sampling, put them in the chiptune fragments, trim and sample it again, use effects in an external program, and finally that song came out. The name translates to "melancholy", and the lyrics are "your smile is all you got with sorrow".

Here you can find the whole album at Bandcamp, and here you can go to the YouTube video!

(actually not a video)

And here you can find the Playlist in NewGrounds.

The list will be updated until the 20 songs are complete (, I was planning to upload it all in the same file but it is not possible (it is cut at just 8 minutes of the album), So stay tuned!

In each song there is the link to Bandcamp, if you want to just go for it, just click on the hyperlinked "MEMORY CORE"!

There you can download the whole album, either for free or naming your price! :T

Remember that if you want to use this album for non-commercial purposes, you should talk to me first, because there are songs that belong to other projects and one of them is not also from another person.

If you made it this far, thank you very much for reading! I hope this information has been to your liking and/or useful!

See you in the next blog :D

Hello everyone :D

Currently (and always) I do chiptune, and I will take advantage of the fact that in this place you can upload audio and music. Perhaps, it will not be the same as reposting pixelarts that I have in my main gallery (DArt).

Since I have an official site on Bandcamp, I will upload the most relevant songs here, and when it comes to an album, I will upload a single entire audio, all always with the download link on Bandcamp to have (so to speak) better control over the source of my content.

I would like you to be the first to see it published on YouTube and Bandcamp, but of course I can't force you (and doing it would be very disrespectful of me), so therefore, the same day a new album or song "releases", I will start uploading it here in NewGrounds at the same time as on YT and Bc.

The reuploaded songs will not be in order (as in the case of pixelarts), so you may find differences in quality (if one is older, or if one is more recent), in the same way, in the description it will have a date of the original upload!

Also, I take this opportunity to spoiler that I am currently working on 2 albums with different themes, and since the "BlackedBit" project has finished, I will use other project names (or artist names) depending on the theme. If it's a cover, remake or misc, I'll introduce myself with my username as is.

That's all for this topic, have a good night/day/afternoon/morning! And even though I'm new, thank you for your support!

At the moment I am reuploading works from places outside of NG to show my gallery, however, to avoid confusion, all works done before entering NG will have the date of the original upload at the bottom of the description, it will be you will see something like: [UPDATE: Nov 1, 2022], it will be on the bottom right.

Maybe I should have entered NG earlier to gain some audience, but I didn't consider myself competent enough to, well, compete with a high number of top tier users.

That.

Actually, since I just moved to Pixiv, I'm a little lazy to have to reupload the ENTIRE gallery here, so I'll only upload the most relevant things, I've done a wide variety of things between small, medium and large, and some collections... (Well, only like 3 collections)

If you want to see the rest, you can go directly to DeviantArt, it's all there.iu_873424_14817469.png

Hi, I'm BlackedIRL (as you can see from the user), but you can just call me BLK !

I'm a pixel artist and sometimes I do chiptune, I have done little and it takes a while, but always to take the time to do it as well as possible, be patient please! :D

My art mainly focuses on the modern age, sci-fi, cyberpunk and horror, occasionally a bit of nature.

So, yes, I am new to NG, most of my contact and content repository are in other social net/web pages, if you allow me, I will list the places where I am mainly:

Twitter - DeviantArt - Pixiv - YouTube - Bandcamp

-I also do commissions, but you'll have to head over to my Twitter or DArt-

(NOTE: If you find my chiptune under the name "BlackedBit", that was the artistic name I used, currently the project has been closed, but I will continue doing chiptune from time to time)

You can also find my color palettes for pixelart at Lospec !
